BUILD INSTRUCTIONS
Advice from the experts
Spare screws are included with each part. Occasionally, you may be instructed to keep spare or unused screws for a later stage. Keep these spares in a safe place and label them correctly.
Please make sure you don’t mix up the screws. They look quite similar, but the threads do vary slightly. Using the wrong screws may damage the parts. Only use the correct size screwdriver that fits the screw head firmly.
When securing parts together using multiple screws, fit each screw loosely to ensure all the parts are correctly aligned before gently tightening them firmly, but not overtight, in the order in which you placed them.
The screwdriver can be magnetized by stroking it with a magnet (fridge magnet, etc.) enabling it to hold the screws and make assembly easier.
If a screw is tight going into a metal part, do not force it as you may shear the head off. Remove it and put a tiny smear of Vaseline, soap or light oil on the thread. That will lubricate it and make it easier to tighten.
Some parts will require a little glue for assembly. Please apply glue sparingly and use a cocktail stick so that you don’t use too much nor apply the glue too heavily. We recommend superglue gel or Extra Thin Liquid modeling glue. Where possible, parts should be test-fitted in place before gluing.
Make sure you have good ventilation when using adhesives and to replace caps firmly.
Use a magnet to help find screws that have fallen on the floor.
Use masking tape to hold parts temporarily in place.
Cut parts from a sprue (framework) with side cutters or a craft knife. Side cutters tend to be easiest.
During the course of this build, you will receive many pieces that you will assemble immediately – following the instructions in the corresponding stage – and other pieces that you should store safely to one side, for use in future assembly stages.
Always protect the paint finish on components by placing a cutting mat, sheet of white paper or soft cloth on your work surface.
When plugging cables in, ensure the power is switched off. Tweezers can be used to fit the PVC cables by gripping carefully around 5mm from the end of the cable. If a cable needs to be removed from a socket, do not pull on the cable as this could damage the connection. Grip the plug with tweezers to remove it.
Left and Right! When building your AH-64 Apache, the left- or right-hand side refers to that side as if you are sitting in the cockpit.
When you see this symbol, pay attention to the instruction text in bold and check the orientation of the parts in the image as this will be particularly important for assembly in later stages.
WARNING: Some parts are assembled using magnets. These magnets can cause serious injury if they are swallowed. Keep away from children. If you suspect a magnet has been swallowed, seek medical help straight away.
This is not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years old due to small parts. Adult supervision required.

Step 1
Fit 48-B to 48-A.
Step 2
Secure with 1x CM.
Step 3
48-C has one screw post that is taller than the other (circled).
Step 4
Align the holes of 48-C with those of 48-A as shown. Make sure the taller screw post (circled) is in the correct position.
Fit the parts together and secure with 2x CM.
Step 5
When fitting 48-M and 48-N the pins should be in the orientation shown by the red outlines.
Step 6
Fit 48-N to the right side of the assembly.
Step 7
Fit 48-M to the left side of the assembly.
Step 8
Glue 48-G to the left side of the assembly.
Step 9
Glue 48-E to the assembly.
Step 10
Glue 48-D to the assembly.
Step 11
Glue 48-F to the left side of the assembly.
The pins are different sizes so the part can only fit one way.
Step 12
The step handles have been fitted to the left side of the fuselage.
Step 13
Press 48-K onto the top of the assembly.
Step 14
Glue 48-L to the rear of the assembly.
Step 15
Glue 48-W to the top of the assembly.
Step 16
Glue 48-V to 48-W and the left side of the assembly.
Step 17
Glue 48-H to the right side of the assembly.
Step 18
Glue 48-J to the assembly.
Step 19
Fit 48-X to the underside of the assembly. Study the picture to check that part 48-X is in the correct orientation.
Step 20
Align 48-Q, 48-R, 48-S and 48-U with the tail assembly (stage 46) as shown.
Glue the parts into place.
Step 21
Fit 48-T to 48-P.
Step 22
Glue 48-P to the tail assembly.
Step 23
To avoid damaging the fragile parts (circled), we advise that the tail assembly is supported as shown.

Step 1
Fit 49-B onto 48-A (stage 48). Start with the bottom tabs (a), then press the top tabs in place (b).
Step 2
Fit 49-C and 49-A in the same way.
Step 3
Fit 49-E onto the front left side of the cockpit. Start with the bottom tabs (a), then press the top tabs in place (b).
Step 4
Fit 49-D in the same way.
Step 5
Glue 49-F to the front of the assembly.
Step 6
Glue 49-G to the assembly. Use polyvinyl acetate glue (PVA).
Step 7
Press 6-H (stage 6) onto 49-K.
Step 8
Fit 49-K to the left side of the tail assembly (stage 48).
Step 9
Fit 6-Q (stage 6) to the tail assembly.
Step 10
Fit 6-K (stage 6), which is marked with an 'L' (circled), to the tail assembly.
Step 11
Press the other 6-H (stage 6) onto 49-L.
Step 12
Fit 49-L to the right side of the tail assembly.
Step 13
Fit 6-T (stage 6), which is marked with an 'R' (circled), to the tail assembly.
Step 14
You will now start building a rocket launcher.
Note: The magnets may already be glued in place.
Glue a 49-Q into 49-J. The side marked with red should face outwards as shown.
Glue the other 49-Q into 49-J as shown, with the red marking facing outwards.
Step 15
Push 49-H into 49-J.
Make sure the holes are aligned. Do not glue.
Step 16
Push the other 49-H into 49-J.
You can push a rocket through to check that the parts are aligned correctly.
Step 17
Push 49-N onto 49-J.
Step 18
Take 48-Y (stage 48) and cut out the decals outlined with the red dotted line.
Step 19
Apply decals A, B and C to the assembly.
Step 20
The missile launcher can be displayed on the racks (49-M).
Step 21
Cut the decals outlined with the red dotted line from 48-Y.
Step 22
Take 49-P and a set of decals.
Apply decals D, E, F and G to 49-P.
Step 23
Repeat step 22 to make 10 rockets.
Use the rockets from the previous stages as a reference when positioning the decals to help with the alignment.

Repeat this process to make the second missile.

Cut parts 50-F and 50-E off the sprues.

Glue 50-F to the assembly.

Repeat this process to assemble the second missile.
Step 6
Cut the decals outlined with the red dotted line from 48-Y.
Step 7
Apply decals A, B, C and D to the missile.
Step 8
Repeat this process for the second missile.
Step 9
You will now build the missile crates.
Cut the decals outlined with the red dotted line from 48-Y.
Step 10
Apply the two decals labelled J to 50-B.
Apply decal K to the inside of 50-B.
Step 11
Press 50-B onto 50-A.
Step 12
Apply decals E, F, G, H and L to the ends of the assembly.
Step 13
Repeat this process to assemble the second missile crate.
Step 14
If you have assembled version 2 (v2) of the engine nacelle, follow steps 14 and 15 to complete the assembly. If you have built version 1 (v1) of the engine nacelle, go straight to the next stage.
Glue 15-L (stage 15) to 50-G.
Glue 15-M (stage 15) to 50-G.
Step 15
Press 50-G into the left engine nacelle (stage 15-v2).
Take care as the pins are fragile.

Secure from underneath with 1x FM.
Step 12
Fit 52-F to the assembly.
Step 13
Secure from underneath with 1x OP.
Step 14
The left ski is complete. Keep the remaining parts in a safe place. You will have the option to fit the skis in a later stage.

Pay attention to decal J. The arrow should point left, with the text above the arrow.
Step 9
Place the assembly on its side with the previous set of decals facing you.
Apply decals F, G, H and K. Note that these decals are applied with the text upside-down.
Step 10
Apply decals E and D, wrapping them around the missile launcher.
Step 11
Apply decals D and E to the missile launchers from stages 23 and 31.
Additional decals will be provided in a later pack for the last missile launcher.
Step 12
Insert the missile (step 6) into 54-C.

Fit 56-D to the assembly.

The right ski is complete. Keep the remaining parts in a safe place. You will have the option to fit the skis in a later stage.

Apply a decal to 57-B, gently wrapping the decal around with your finger.

Repeat to make twenty rockets.

You will now build the tail ski.
Fit 57-D into 57-A.

The tail ski is complete. Keep the remaining parts in a safe place. You will have the option to fit the skis in a later stage.
